Highlife wanders between pop music and poetry, mixes dialect with English and French and symbolizes the daily flood of sensations in the Occident. Most of the lyrics were written in the Berlin subway, recorded in a windowless air-raid shelter in Lucerne. Western madness became an inspiration there. Digitalisation, self-staging, prosperity and isolation are sung about, one thing above all is fought against: the fear of the unknown.
